Its the final countdown ...

Whoa ! THAT FLEW BY

Okay , so as far as blogging goes when you dont have access to the internet(and when you do its pretty crappy internet) i suck. If i was at home this blog would have been updated every day, then again if i was at home i wouldnt have this blog because i wouldnt be in Australia.

Its hard to belive three weeks have gone by. We're comming into the final strech. Four more days and i'll be home again. Theres so much packing i have to do. I actually ended up buying another huge bag to fit my extra stuff in. I'm sure my mom will LOVE that. Theres SO much i have to write about when i get home and i cant wait to. And to upload pictures so you can live vicariously through me. Australia's shown me so much, and taught me alot but i think its time i do go home. I miss my family and friends. This country is amazing, most of the people are very kind . At least the ones i've met have been hospitable beyond belief and gone out of they're way to make me feel welcome.
The culture , the lifestyle , the city(Melbourne) is incredible. I will for sure miss it here. I cant wait to maybe one day in the future come down and bring along some friends so they can experience everything i've gotten the chance to.
Heres to the incredible time i've had, to the memories, the friends i've made , the things we've seen and the things we've done!

C H E E R S !

No worries mate ;)

I see the sun ..

So heres the rest of the entry before this one.

Saturday we went to a market and walked around for a bit. There were plenty of stalls offering organic foods, jams, vegtables etc. It was nice, reminded me of the market back in Bosnia(not as big or as nice) but still. After the Market we decided to go to the Melbourne Aquarium. It was AMAZING !! The Majority of the Aquarium is underground next to the Yarra river. There were spectacular things to see. Sharks and eels and squid and sting rays and , everything it was absolutly amazing !

Saturday Night we were taken out by Corina and Hayley some of our SAIT students who have been here for 6 months on a semester exchange. We went to the CROWN Casino, there we met up with a friend of Corinas named Nick. I was suprised to find out he was lebanese, Nick offered to take us to a nightclub so after a hour at the lounge we went to Marakech(Mar-a-kesh). It was AMAZING.. And i MEAN AMAZING !! It was a underground night club with abour 6 different rooms with a very arabian feel. There was a international DJ spinning that night. the club was PACKED, we danced and danced and danced. At about 2-3 am we decided to head home(with a quick stop to Mackers(McDonalds) as the Aussie's call it and then a 45 minute ride on the Night Rider ( a bus that picks up everyone whos been clubbing and takes them home) As tired as we all were some of us sang on the bus some danced and some took a nap before we got home.

Sunday we got decided to sleep in a little because Sunday afternoon we were privleged to get to go see a AFL Aussie Rules game. Melbourne was playing vs. Hawthorn, the game is so intense. Its a mixture of rugby and soccer and a million other things. Throw 25 players on to a circular feild with 4 referees and team runners on and girls running on in the middle of the play to bring on water bottles. It was crazy and FUN !!

Oh , i've been having an amazing time. I miss my family, theres alot going on at home that i'm not there for but it'll be okay. I'm home soon MAMA dont stress..

By the way i took a walk on the beach last night as the sun was setting.
I think i'm in love <3

G'Day Mate, How you going?

One Week Down

Okay i know i havent written in a really long time , and when i did write i didnt write much.
I"M SORRY, I dont get the chance to come on the internet much ( hello i am in Australia ) and when i do Its basically just to email my family. So here goes i'm going to try and catch you up on whats happened the last week since i've been here.

Monday the 18th we had our first offical meeting at the Collage. We Met the instructors, the senior educators the people incharge of the program and the other students from Kirkwood Community Collage (Iowa,USA). After the morning meeting we walked around campus with Erin Douglas she is one of the Senior Educators for the Hospitality and Tourism program. This was also the first day we met David. David is what i call my wee scotish man. After living in Australia 20 some years he still has his Scottish accent. He is one halarious man. He teaches a couple classes at the collage , Wine and Spirits and Bar Managment or something along those lines.

After a long day we decided to invite everyone back to our apartment for drinks and so we could get to know each other. There were about 15/6 of us over that night, it got pretty loud so we decided to move the party upstairs to the Yanks(Americans room)...that night wrapped up around 1 am , everyone was pretty tired and needed to hit the sack for the City tour the next day.

Tuesday the 19th was our City Tour of Melbourne. Melanie and Jenni our Tour Guides here took us downtown to Flinders St Station where we started. We explored alot that day. from 10 am untill 4 pm we were walking. We went to the Docklands, we went to Lygon Street , sat in cafes, explored shops and took alot of pictures !!

Wednesday- Friday were pretty much the same things. Wednesday night we found a great pub in the Kew District.
We got our own private room in the back and watched a footie game.

Thursday was eventful because Ashley(my roomate) burned her hair. She freaked out(I MEAN WHICH GIRL WOULDNT), it took alot of calming down but we got her settled and gave her a slight haircut, all was well.
Thursday Night David(Scotish man) and Erin took us on a City Hotel and Bar Tour. The Hotels were gorgeous one was a four star one was a five and a half star hotel i belive. The Langham was my favorite. David started working here a long time ago when it was 1st a Sheraton. The best part of the night was the Bar Tour. We Went to a couple, my favorite was Cookie. Gorgeous Bar/Resturant on the Second level ( with another bar and a roof top bar/theater on the top floor) , it was packed for the supper rush but it was still nice. Madam Brussels was a very unique bar !!

Friday we had a class and then TGIF. NOTE TO SELF : Dont start drinking at 2 pm and if you do ( eat.. and dont drink to fast).. Trust me on this one i should know. Lets just say i packed it in early on friday.

( I'll finish this entry later i got to get going )

Live Laugh and LOVE from Melbourne!

We took the Train down to Flinders street station(look it up on google) It was AMAZING, we passed they're AFL Stadium(we're going to a game sometime soon).. Then spent the day walking about all over the place. We passed Luna park(look it up on google) and went straight to St.Kilda's beach. Which was breathtaking. of corse we took alot of pictures and enjoyed the beach !
